Embattled golfer Tiger Woods — who has been linked at least nine women who claim to have had affairs — posted a statement on his website on Sunday, thanking fans and sponsors for attending a tournament that supports his foundation.

"As the final round of the Chevron World Challenge begins, I would like to extend my heartfelt thank you to everyone affiliated with the event, especially our amazing title sponsor, Chevron," writes Woods, 33, who withdrew from the Chevron World Challenge because of unspecified injuries from a Nov. 27 car accident outside his home in Florida.

"There are also 18 outstanding pros in the field, and I thank them for providing us all with some excellent competition this week.
