Katie Holmes sure hasn't gone into hiding.
On Thursday — exactly one week after she filed for divorce from Tom Cruise after five years of marriage — the 33-year-old actress took daughter Suri, 6, to the Children's Museum of the Arts in Manhattan.
The Jack and Jill star and Suri have been staying at a brand-new, $12,500-a-month apartment in NYC's Chelsea neighborhood, which Holmes secretly began leasing in her own name in the weeks leading up to her bombshell divorce filing.
Swarmed by photographers, a sunglasses-clad Holmes wore a backless, shoulder-baring halter top, skinny jeans and ballet flats, with her hair up in a undone bun. Heading into a waiting SUV after leaving the museum, Holmes carried Suri (pretty in pink) and held the hand of an unidentified young girl.
Although she's been mostly mum about her split from Cruise, 50, Holmes has been out and about in NYC all week — hitting a Project Runway taping on Monday, an ice cream shop on Tuesday (Cruise's birthday) and a local Whole Foods on the morning of July 4, where she appeared to be picking up barbecue supplies.
Looking "relaxed," Holmes "was acting like it was any other day," a Whole Foods witness told Us. "She plopped Suri in the shopping cart and got down to shopping. Suri was having fun. She was pointing to things she wanted and talking to Katie the entire time."
