Kardashian Clan (Minus Kim) Shows Up for Rob On Dancing with the Stars

It was a Halloween-themed night on Dancing With the Stars. The dancers dressed in spooky and devilish costumes, the stage was set like a haunted house, and Kim Kardashian’s ghost lingered throughout the studio. But the night belonged to Ricki and Rob.

Ricki Lake and her professional partner Derek Hough earned a total of 27 points, the highest score of the night. Dancing the Paso Doble, it was a well-deserved and lucky break for the duo. In footage from this past week’s rehearsal, Lake, 43, spoke of pains in her ribs, which a doctor later diagnosed as an inflamed nerve. But the former talk show host performed pain free.

Judge Bruno Tonioli called her performance “incredible”. Carrie Ann Inaba deemed her transitions “gorgeous”. And the typically tight fisted Len Goodman reviewed the dancing team’s Paso Doble as “fantastic, lovely, and precise”.

The Monday night show ended in a dance off – three teams dancing the Tango, verses three teams dancing the Paso Doble. The Paso Doble captivated the judges, earning a high score of 26 points over the Tango’s 23 points. Danced by Ricki Lake and Derek Hough, Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke, and Hope Solo with the noticeably quieter Maksim Chmerkovskiy, the Paso Doble group performance was lively, edgy, and perfectly in sync for Halloween. (Last week Chmerkovskiy, 31, lashed out at Goodman for calling his performance “the worst dance of the season.”)

Rehearsal footage showed tense practices between Solo, 30, and Chmerkovskiy, but their final presentation was tight and seamless. And yet it was Kardashian, 24, who received the highest regards. Judge Goodman complimented the only non-professional male dancer in the group for “keeping up with the guys”.

For Rob it was a job well done, considering the drama surrounding his family Monday. Older sister Kim announced her divorce after 72 days of marriage to NBA star Kris Humphries. And despite the media storm surrounding the Kardashian clan, step-dad Bruce Jenner, older sister Kourtney and her baby Mason with beau Scott Disick still came out to support Rob.
