Rule #1: Stick to the two-drink maximum
No matter how tempting that open bar is, Stanger warns against overindulging. "You don't want to get too drunk because the boss can be on the premises and it's gonna get back," Stanger tells UsMagazine.com. Stick with only two drinks — just like in the Millionaire Matchmaker mixers and dates.
Rule #2: Keep your clothes on
"Don't be that crazy girl that takes off her clothes," Stanger advises. "You don't want to be that girl."
Rule #3: Mingle, mingle, mingle
"Girls need to break away from the girls and go to the men," Stanger tells Us. "And men need to break away from the men and go to the girls. You're never going to get anyone if you stand back and are protected by the wolf den."
Rule #4: Pay love forward
Avoid cheesy pick-up lines at all costs. "If you meet a guy and you think he's cute, tell him you wish you could find a guy just like him," Stanger says. "If he likes you, he'll cross the street to ask you out."
Or, if office romances are off limits, suggest a fix up with a coworker. "Say I'd love to fix you up with one of my friends outside of the office. Get the referral and pay it forward."
