Gary Coleman's ex-wife Shannon Price is asking fans to remember the late actor … by opening their wallets.

"Our life together has not always been the best financially, and right now I am struggling to figure out what I am going to do for funeral costs," she says in a video on TMZ.com. "I don't know how I am going to survive. It's been a really rough while because Gary hasn't had much work because of his health."

She says their "finances were great" when they met on a movie set in 2007 and reveals how they often took trips to Las Vegas together (she says she'd only buy the "high-end stuff").

Since his May 28 passing at age 42, she says, "now I basically have nothing. I mean, he was never able to have life insurance … because of his kidney disease, which is sad, because that could have helped with funeral costs and everything else. So I am just wishing and hoping that people will pour out to us and really show their compassion, like they have been sending the letters and emails."

It's unclear whether Price and Gary Coleman ever remarried after their 2008 divorce. But Coleman gave written permission for Price to make decisions regarding his health. She ordered that he be taken off life support after suffering a brain hemorrhage last week. (He would've ended up "like Muhammad Ali," she has said.)

On Thursday, Coleman's parents announced they are seeking custody of his body and want it returned to his Illinois hometown.

It was announced earlier this week that his funeral will take place this weekend near the actor's Utah home.
