Keith Urban really set the bar high for all married men. The country crooner serenaded his famous wife, Nicole Kidman, during his concert in Melbourne, Australia on Wednesday, June 25, to celebrate their eighth wedding anniversary.
According to The Herald Sun, the American Idol judge took to the stage at his concert and told the audience he wrote the song "Once In A Lifetime" circa 2006 a day after talking with then-fiance Kidman about their upcoming nuptials.
"A couple of months before the wedding, we were in our hotel and we were talking about the future and Nic was getting very nervous about marrying me," Keith told the sold out crowd. "She was saying things like 'It's a long shot' [but] I knew she loved me and was just nervous. I did everything I could to remind her that I was going to be her man forever," he added, before performing a "passionate" rendition of the song for his wife.
Kidman's adoring husband then went on to share with the audience that he sang "Making Memories Of Us" to his "baby girl" at their wedding.
"This is a song a lot of people have at their wedding," Keith said. "We had it at ours. I sung it. I was too cheap to get anybody else, " he joked. "Eight years baby girl. This song is for you." Keith then shouted out to Kidman who was watching her husband on stage out of sight in a VIP box. "I love you so much."
The Oscar winner married the fellow Aussie back in 2006, on June 25, at Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel within the grounds of St. Patrick's Estate in Sydney, Australia. (It was Urban's first marriage and the second for Kidman, who split from Tom Cruise in 2001.)
Together they have two daughters Sunday Rose, 5, and Faith Margaret, 3.
