After almost two decades in show business, Lindsay Lohan has appeared on TV and in hit films, starred in her own reality show, and even recorded several albums. Now the former child star, 27, is preparing to make her theatrical debut in a West End production of Speed-the-Plow.
Lohan revealed her plans to The New York Times while sitting front row at the Jeremy Scott fashion show on June 17. The Times reported that Lohan will make a “potential appearance” in the David Mamet play this November.
“It’s the first time I’ve done a stage play or anything like that,” she told the paper. “I’m nervous but I’m excited.”
Lohan will be playing Karen, a role which was originated by Madonna in the 1988 Broadway production.
After leaving her most recent rehab stint in July 2013, Lohan agreed to film an Oprah Winfrey-produced reality series, titled Lindsay, documenting her life and road to recovery.
In the show’s finale, she revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage.
"It's a very long story but that's why on the show when it says, 'she doesn't want to come down, she doesn't want to come down,'" Lohan said of her lost pregnancy. "I couldn't move. I was sick. And mentally that messes with you."
