On the road again! Kate Middleton and Prince William departed London for a trip to Belgium this week, arriving in the European country on Monday, Aug. 4.

The Duchess, 32, looked elegant for the somber event. She wore a fitted cream-colored coat dress with a Peter Pan collar and a pleated skirt, paired with nude pumps. With her hair straight and half-up, she wore a cream and coral headpiece to finish off the look.

Her husband, also 32, was stately in a trim navy blue suit, white collared shirt, and red and blue striped tie. He wore his ribboned medals, and completed his suit with a pair of black dress shoes.

“Your great sacrifice and your contribution to eventual victory was pivotal,” he said of the country’s fight in WWI. “Belgium’s resistance in 1914 allowed the Allies to regroup and draw up the battle lines which became the infamous trenches. These trenches have left an indelible scar on your land—they speak of the horrors of war but also of your forebears’ courage… Many nations here today, the United Kingdom among them, owe you a great debt of gratitude for your fortitude and resistance.”

“Your Majesties, if I may say so, Belgium’s steadfast remembrance of your war dead, and ours, is a great credit to your nation,” Prince William continued. “On behalf of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, head of the Commonwealth, thank you for the honor you do us all… We were enemies more than once in the last century, and today we are friends and allies. We salute those who died to give us our freedom. We will remember them.”
