Who knew fantasizing about your celebrity crushes could be so profitable?

Diehard One Direction fan Emily Baker recently made a name for herself among fellow 1D devotees when she started writing fan fiction about the band for movellas.com. (Her work was the website's biggest recent success, receiving more than 30,000 requests for a follow-up.)

An enterprising Penguin fiction editor stumbled across the 16-year-old's writing and decided to acquire it for the company.

"Penguin has been looking to commission a writer to pen a romantic YA fictional novel that tapped into the current obsession with boy bands," Penguin explained in a statement (via The New York Daily News.)

The editor responsible for discovering Baker's piece, Lindsay Heaven, told The Daily Mail she thinks the high schooler is "just the right kind of new talent to write such a novel with powerful emotion and authority."

"The story is a typical girl-meets-boy love story, except it's girl-meets-band," Baker explained to the British paper of her pending masterpiece, which describes a teen who gets to know members of a One Direction-like group.

"It's about a girl who lives in Scotland and comes down to London to visit her best friend," Baker continued. "When she gets there she bumps into a boy band and hangs out with them, and eventually she finds out two of them — Shaq and Reily — have fallen for her."

"Loving the Band" is slated to be released as an e-book in November.
