Soccer dad in training?
From the looks of things, Martin Kirsten is pretty comfortable hanging with Heidi Klum’s crew. Her new man, and former bodyguard, attended a soccer game in L.A. Saturday, where he and Klum cheered on 7-year-old Henry alongside Leni, 8, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2, Klum’s kids with estranged hubby Seal.
Klum confirmed reports the pair had taken their friendship to the next level during an interview on Katie Couric’s talk show in September.
“I trust him with my children’s life,” the German-born stunner, 39, explained. “He’s a great man . . . and we just got to know each other from a completely different side.”
“They’ve always been close,” a pal recently told Us Weekly of Klum and Kirsten, who has worked as her bodyguard for years. And this summer, “The relationship developed into something more,” the insider shared.
Klum’s ex Seal didn’t take too kindly to the news that Klum was moving on with someone who used to be on the family’s payroll.
In a Labor Day weekend scandal, the R&B crooner, 49, sniped that Klum should have waited to “fornicate with the help” before their divorce was finalized, though he later emphasized that Klum did not cheat during their seven-year marriage.
Klum and Seal announced their split in January and filed divorce papers in April. As she sought to move past her heartbreak, Klum reportedly turned to Kirsten for comfort.
By July 4, the duo were spotted together on Shelter Island, New York, and Klum seemed “smitten.”
“It may be a rebound,” a source says. “Still, this is someone she is comfortable with.”
For what it’s worth, Klum’s brood of four little ones certainly approve of their mom’s new romance.
Says the source, “They love him.”
