Bachelor Pad’s Kalon McMahon: Falling For Lindzi Cox Was “Effortless”

Unlike many of their coupled-up Bachelor and Bachelorette peers, Kalon McMahon and girlfriend Lindzi Cox just may have staying power. At least according to eliminated Bachelor Pad contestant McMahon.

"The thing with Lindzi was it was literally effortless," Emily Maynard's Bachelorette reject told Us Weekly during a Thursday conference call following his August 24 elimination. Falling for Ben Flajnik's ex — with whom he later partnered in an effort to win Bachelor Pad's $250,000 prize — almost immediately, McMahon appreciated his girlfriend's kindness in the wake of the scrutiny he received on The Bachelorette.

Once the couple teamed up to battle in weekly challenge, McMahon argued that their bond became unbreakable. "At the end of the day, my personal life is much more important to me than the game show, so if we are going to be criticized for developing a real relationship, I'm certainly not going to be offended if [others think] it was a bad move strategically," he explained.

Going into last week's elimination, McMahon knew he and Cox had a target on their backs, but were more concerned about keeping their relationship in tact rather than winning the money. "We saw how ugly the game was starting to get and we both promised each other that we weren't going to be that emotional couple running around the house throwing ourselves at people lobbying for votes, because we knew that when we left the house that was going to be the start of our real relationship," argued McMahon.

Maintaining a long distance relationship since filming wrapped, California's McMahon has made frequent trips to Seattle to visit his girlfriend as their relationship grows.

"We went from essentially living together and playing house to relying on phone calls and FaceTime," McMahon admitted. "It's certainly a backwards way to start a relationship, but we are doing our best to make a healthy one."
