Hilary Duff relished the opportunity to chow down when pregnant with baby Luca, whom she welcomed with husband Mike Comrie in March.
An avid gym rat pre-pregnancy, the actress, 24, tells talk show host Bethenny Frankel she viewed pregnancy as a food free-for all. “My whole life I’ve worked out and exercised and been in the public eye and always kind of watched what I ate,” Duff tells Frankel in an interview airing on her eponymous talk show Wednesday (check local listings). “[Pregnancy] was like a free pass and it was a blast!”
Breast-feeding her little boy since his birth, new mom Duff admits to Frankel that if and when she decides to have a second baby, she’ll curb her pregnancy diet plan.
“I would try not to gain as much weight,” Duff explained. “I wouldn’t go back and change [this pregnancy] because I had a lot of fun.”
Duff has told Us Weekly that she’s letting her pregnancy pounds come off in a healthy way — and she’s not trying to rush things.
“Obviously, I’m not where I want to be eventually, but I’m working hard and I’m doing everything I can to lose the weight the right way,” she told Us earlier this month.
Added the former Disney star: “The second I start to get down like ‘what happened to my body?’ I look at my beautiful baby and I’ve never been more appreciative for this body that I have.”
