Pregnancy and new hair color seem to go hand in hand in Hollywood recently.
Mommy-to-be Drew Barrymore has followed in the footsteps of pregnant Kourtney Kardashian and has lightened up her locks.
But while Kardashian recently opted for highlights using an ammonia-free formula, Barrymore, 37, has gone all out for a bright blonde that’s shades lighter than the dark brunette ombre color she was sporting last week when she debuted her baby bump in a sheer T-shirt in Los Angeles. (This is her and fiance Will Kopelman's first pregnancy together.)
After receiving backlash about her lighter locks in mid-March, Kardashian took to her blog to defend her decision to get her hair dyed while pregnant — a service in which some OB-GYNs may frown upon.
"I did research about doing anything to the color of my hair while pregnant and followed all of the guidelines from my doctor and took the proper precautions necessary," the 32-year-old blogged. "I highlighted my hair, which is considered the safest form of hair color while pregnant, and not to the root, so nothing ever touched my scalp. I also used products that did not contain any ammonia."
