Claire Danes has a lot to be grateful for in 2012.
On July 19, the pregnant Homeland actress was nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category at the Primetime Emmy Awards; she will compete against The Good Wife's Julianna Margulies, 46, Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss, 29, Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery, 30, Damages' Glenn Close, 65, and Harry's Law's Kathy Bates, 64.
But before Danes walks the red carpet at L.A.'s NOKIA Theatre September 23, she and her husband, Hugh Dancy, will be on the prowl for new digs in the Big Apple. "They are definitely going to keep looking for new apartments in the city where they can raise a kid," a Dancy pal tells Us Weekly. "They are New Yorkers and plan on being New York parents."
The timing couldn't be more perfect for the couple, as Dancy, 37, recently finished his Venus in Fur Broadway run, and Danes, 33, about to wrap production on season 2 of Homeland. "Hugh and Claire decided a while back that they were going to have a child together," the pal explains. "But they wanted to work their schedules around it."
For now, the couple — who costarred in the 2007 film Evening and married two years later — are enjoying every moment of Danes' first pregnancy. "Hugh is so excited to be a dad," the pal tells Us. "They are going to be amazing parents!"
