Heidi Klum is raising a canine commander.
At Tuesday's amfAR Inspiration Gala in NYC, the Project Runway host told Us Weekly that her four children (including daughter Lou, 18 months) have recently begun training their two new German shepherds.
"They're showing them how to sit!" Klum, 38, laughed. "Lou says, 'Freddy sit. Freddy sit. Freddy sit, sit, sit!' She says that all day long!"
And like her father Seal, 48, baby Lou "likes to dance, but she's very observant," Klum said. "She's very quiet. Like at the dinner table, she's not loud. The other kids are very loud and she kind of sits there and watches everyone. She's kind of sponging everything up, and I know she's memorizing everything — it's going to come out soon!"
As for the rest of her kids (Leni, 7, Henry, 5, and Johan, 4), Klum told Us she's doing her best to "open their eyes" to "see what goes on around them."
"Growing up in Beverly Hills, you live in a bubble," she explained. "So New York is great because you see a different way of living. They see people living on the streets and they ask a lot of questions. I'm honest with them and I tell them that not everyone lives the same way. Not everyone has a garden. Not everyone has a maid."
"I try not to overwork their little brains on subjects that maybe they shouldn't know about yet," Klum added, "but when they ask I tell them the truth."
