Teen Mom‘s Amber Portwood made the surprising — and controversial! — decision to quit her court-ordered rehab in favor of a five-year prison sentence earlier this week, and she has the full support of fellow MTV star Farrah Abraham, 21.

“I wish her the best. I know she’s just trying to get through this hard time. I’ve worked through my hard time, so I just hope she works through whatever she has to go through and is back home with her child and is happy with her family,” Abraham said on Ryan Seacrest‘s KIIS-FM radio show Thursday. “That’s all I can say.”

Abraham — mom to Sophia, 3, with deceased ex Derek Underwood — added that she’s looking forward “to opening up my own restaurant, doing more books, being in entertainment, and hopefully doing clothing lines and makeup.”

Portwood, meanwhile, will spend half a decade behind bars as she reevaluates her life. The Indiana resident, 22, opened up about her prison sentence during a jailhouse interview with Good Morning America Wednesday.

“I was very depressed, all alone, all bitter at everybody. I felt like that wasn’t the life I wanted to live,” Portwood said of her court-mandated rehab stint. “I felt like I’d rather do my time, and get it over with, and make the best out of the situation that’s been handed to me.”

She continued: “It wasn’t just the program — it was the fact of being alone. It was personal. You know being alone, feeling like you’re hopeless, you have nothing, feeling like an addict and you’re never going to change, even though in your mind you’re working so hard but every time you get to court it’s not good enough.”

Portwood — mom to daughter Leah, 3, with on-and-off love Gary Shirley — also revealed that she recently tried to commit suicide for the second time. “I took 30 Suboxone within three days,” she said on Good Morning America. “The depression took over. I’d just take four to five at a time underneath my tongue, and nod out. I had more than addiction problems. I had, you know, mental problems, too.”

The troubled Teen Mom star is looking forward to facing her demons head-on in prison. “I’m going to substance-abuse classes,” Portwood said. “And I’m going to get my GED.”
