Lyrical love!
American Idol Season 8 finalist Scott MacIntyre will wed his long-time sweetheart Christina Teich in Scottsdale, AZ on August 18.
"Christina is a beautiful person, whom I have known since well before Idol," MacIntyre said in a release. "She is my soul mate."
The nuptials will take place in front of 200 close family and friends. But rather than a string quartet, all music for the ceremony will be written and recorded by MacIntyre himself.
"The best way I know how to express my feelings for her is with a special song for this special day," says MacIntyre. "[My song], "I Wanna Be There" (available on iTunes Aug. 18) is about staying committed to someone through happiness, sorrow, tears and laughter. That's the relationship we have, and I'm excited to share the song at our wedding."
The couple plans to spend their honeymoon on the Hawaiian island of Kauai.
MacIntyre, 26, was Idol's first visually-impaired contestant, but he quickly became one of the most-memorable being equally as talented on the piano as he was in vocal performance. The Arizona native came in eighth place during the FOX show's 2009 competition, losing out to well-known finalists like Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta, and winner Kris Allen.
