Style mavens!

When it comes to fashion, Duchess Kate, Michelle Obama, and Lady Gaga probably wouldn't hire the same stylist or shop at the same stores. But in the September issue of Vanity Fair, the three ladies top its 72nd International Best-Dressed List, thanks to their iconic, albeit very different, styles.

It should come as no surprise that Kate, Obama, and Lady Gaga are considered fashion savvy. For example, Kate, 29, has incredible selling power — fans seeking the nude Reiss dress that she wore in London on May 24 crashed the label's website due to its high demand.

Obama, 47, is known for rocking everything from Tom Ford to Target brand Merona — all while making whatever she's clad in look like a million bucks. But the First Lady isn't the only stylish Obama — her husband President Barack joins her on the Best-Dressed Couples list.

And although Lady Gaga, 25, may sport some head-turning numbers like a houndstooth dress by Ferragamo or a Medusa-emblazoned Atelier Versace frock, there's no doubt that her penchant for daring, dramatic getups is admirable.

Also voted best-dressed: French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, Carey Mulligan, and Tilda Swinton, among others. The list's dapper men include Justin Timberlake, Colin Firth, and NBC News anchor Brian Williams, who also has been named to VF's Best-Dressed Hall of Fame.
