After weeks of reports, Seth Rogen confirmed his engagement on the series premiere of TBS' Conan Monday night.
He also revealed the wacky way he popped the question to his longtime girlfriend, writer Lauren Miller.
After he bought the ring, he told Conan, "Literally, I felt like someone had given me like a truckload of heroin to hold onto, I felt like the feds were going to kick in my door at any second. I couldn't have a conversation with my girlfriend. All I could think of was this ring. Like, 'Don't say 'Lord of the Rings!' Don't mention anything about a ring!"
To ease his nervousness, he decided to propose immediately.
But when he went to find her, she was in the closet changing.
"She was literally only in her underpants and [her chest] was out," Rogen, 28, recalled. “I’d already kind of started, and I was like ‘Oh man, her [chest is] out! That’s not part of the plan!’" he said. "I didn’t picture it like this, and I know she didn’t picture it like this. No little girl is like ‘It’ll happen in a closet with my [chest] out.’”
He managed to get the proposal out — and she accepted.
Miller has had small roles in a few of Rogen's films, including Superbad and Zack and Miri Make a Porno.
"I’m just happy for him. That’s good news," Steve Carell, his costar in The 40 Year Old Virgin, previously told UsMagazine.com of the actor's engagement news. "It’s excellent."
Rogen can next be seen in The Green Hornet, out next year.
For the flick, Rogen told Conan, "I kind of got in shape a little bit. If Matthew McConaughey looked like this he'd murder himself, I can tell you that. He would literally kill himself. But for me, this is pretty awesome, I've got to say."
