They were competitors on Dancing With the Stars, but Candace Cameron Bure has nothing but love for fellow '90s TV star Danica McKellar. Us Weekly caught up with the Full House actress on Saturday, July 19, at the 16th Annual DesignCare Benefit, where she talked about her pal's recent engagement to love Scott Sveslosky.
"My best friend is good friends with her fiance, so we've kind of known each other through roundabout ways," the season 18 DWTS third-place finisher told Us of McKellar and her hubby-to-be. "I'm so excited for them!"
The Wonder Years alum is "just so in love and so happy," Bure, 38, continued. "They just suit one another, you know? Their personalities and the way they are just suit each other."
Asked if she had any wedding tips for the bride-to-be, the married mom-of-three replied, "I don't know if I'll help her prepare, but I know I'll attend her reception, at least. I know she'll have a party that I am going to go to. She's been married before, so I bet she knows what she needs to do or what she wants to do this time around."
(McKellar was previously wed to composer Mike Verta, with whom she has a son, Draco. They split in 2012 after three years of marriage.)
Bure, for her part, recently celebrated her 18th anniversary with husband Valeri Bure, a former NHL player. "Communication is key, spending time with each other is key, especially when you have kids," she told Us of what it takes to keep the romance alive. "Go out on dates. Most of all, what I think is important is to be best friends. I think a lot of people can lose that when they've been in relationships for a long time, but if your spouse is your best friend, then that's all that relationship needs."
