Robin Thicke Gets Slammed About Misogyny, Estranged Wife Paula Patton During #AskThicke Twitter Q&A

In a hashtag project gone terribly awry, Robin Thicke got bombarded with scathing comments about misogyny, estranged wife Paula Patton and more for an upcoming Twitter Q&A on Monday, June 30

Robin Thicke's dogged mission to win back estranged wife Paula Patton—not to mention his catalog of sexually charged songs—aren't sitting well with a lot of listeners. The R&B crooner—who is currently promoting his latest album titled, ahem, Paula—got pummeled with negative tweets when VH1 asked for feedback for an upcoming Q&A on Monday, June 30.

Some of the various questions for the singer included topics about misogyny, actress Patton, his infamous 2013 VMA performance with Miley Cyrus, and his still-controversial "Blurred Lines" lyrics and video, which many have argued advocate rape.

Here's a look at some of the (angry, funny, clever) responses to #AskThicke:

Thicke, however, handled himself like a champ during the Twitter chat. The Billboard Music Awards winner neither cancelled or lashed out. Instead, he answered questions — and added some humor, too! In one case, when asked why he named the album Paula he quipped: "Because Beatrice didn't have the same ring to it."

Thicke, 37, and Patton, 38, announced their split after eight years of marriage in February. (The pair are parents to son Julian, 3.) At the time, a source told Us the breakup was a "long time coming." Another added it was "not a shock" and it had been discussed for a long time.

Despite rumors of infidelity, Thicke has since been exceedingly vocal about wanting to reconcile. His latest attempt came during an emotional plea to Patton during a BET Awards performance in L.A. on June 29. "Good evening, my name is Robin Thicke, I'd like to dedicate this song to my wife, and say, 'I miss you, and I’m sorry.' This is called 'Forever Love,'" he told the crowd.
