Elsa? Once Upon a Time has found its Queen of Arendelle! ABC announced Thursday, July 3, that Fringe actress Georgina Haig will portray the Disney ice queen from Frozen on the fairy tale series in season four.
Haig joins newcomer Elizabeth Lail, who will play Elsa's younger sister Anna on the show, and Scott Michael Foster, as the dashing Kristoff. The actress, currently starring on CBS' summer show Reckless as Lee Anne Marcus, is best known for her portrayal of Etta Bishop on Fringe. Haig has also acted in movies like The Sapphires (2012) and Road Kill (2010).
The news of Elsa's character appearing on Once Upon a Time was confirmed after the May 11 season three finale featured a similar-looking, mysterious character from behind. "Get ready…" the official handle for ABC tweeted after the episode aired, along with a pic from the scene. "#Frozen is coming to #OnceUponATime."
Queen Elsa and Princess Anna will join beloved Disney characters, including Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin), Prince Charming (Josh Dallas), Peter Pan (Robbie Kay), and the Wicked Witch of the West (Rebecca Mader).
Frozen, which hit theaters last November, is the highest-grossing animated film of all time and fifth highest-grossing movie ever.
