Texas Chainsaw 3D Tops Weekend Box Office With $23 Million

Texas Chainsaw 3D, the seventh film in the horror franchise, topped the weekend box office in its debut weekend. Starring Alexandra Daddario and Dan Yeager, the John Luessenhop-directed movie raked in $23 million.

Director Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained — featuring an all-star cast that includes Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Leonardo DiCaprio and Christoph Waltz — brought in $20.1 million for a second place finish. Filmmaker Peter Jackson's epic, The Hobbit, came in third place with $17.5 million.

Les Miserables came in fourth place with $16.1 million. The musical adaptation of the famous stage show stars Hugh Jackman, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Anne Hathaway and Russell Crowe. Parental Guidance, starring Bette Midler and Billy Crystal, landed in fifth place with $10.1 million.

Rounding out the top 10 were Tom Cruise's Jack Reacher (No. 6, $9.3 million), Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann's This Is 40 (No. 7, $8.6 million), Daniel Day-Lewis and Sally Field's Lincoln (No. 8, $5.3 million), Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand's The Guilt Trip (No. 9, $4.5 million) and Matt Damon and John Krasinski's Promised Land (No. 10, $4.3 million).
