Though several costars who have starred in the movies based on Nicholas Sparks' novels have ended up dating in real life — Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus — Duhamel, who has been married to Fergie for four years, assured Seacrest that would not be their case.

"It was out of respect for him and his relationship with her, mostly," Duhamel, 40, explained of his decision to chat face-to-face with Seacrest, 38. "These movies are very intimate and I just wanted to say, 'Listen, you don't have to worry about anything,'" he said. "Ryan was more cool with it than I was. It was an awkward conversation, to say the least. I created something that I didn't need to."

In a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Hough, 24, said she wasn't worried about Seacrest, her boyfriend of nearly three years, seeing her kissing scenes with Duhamel. But, she joked, "Kissing scene not so much, maybe the other scene . . . no, he's cool with it."
