Amanda Seyfried is one lucky lady!

At a Les Miserables screening afterparty in New York City Dec. 2, the actress received a kiss on the lips from her costar, Hugh Jackman. The friendly smooch came on the eve of Seyfried’s 27th birthday. (Jackman, 44, has been happily married to Deborra-Lee Furness since April 1996.)

Throughout the night, Seyfried — wearing a Marios Schwab dress and Rupert Sanderson shoes — chatted up costars Anne Hathaway, Eddie Redmayne and Samantha Barks at Porterhouse.

Earlier this year, Seyfried spoke to the Wall Street Journal about playing Cosette, the daughter of Hathaway’s Fantine, in director Tom Hooper‘s Les Miserables.

“I’m so proud of it! I’ve never done a movie where in the middle of shooting I’ve been like, ‘This is going to be a masterpiece,'” Seyfried said. “A lot of movies don’t turn out the way they should these days because of so many elements post-production. But this movie’s destined to be a classic.”

The film — which also stars Russell Crowe, Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen — is unique in that each musical number was filmed live, as opposed to being dubbed with a pre-recorded track.

“The fact that Tom Hooper’s capturing it in that way, it’s the most raw and purest performance that you could possibly get,” Seyfried explained. “So I think he’s really smart and it’s revolutionary.”

As for Seyfried’s new friendship with Jackman? “He talks about [his wife], he talks about his family — they come first,” she told the Wall Street Journal. “Yet he behaves like his job is the most important thing as well. It’s amazing how he can balance it.”

Les Miserables is in theaters Dec. 25.
