Zelda Williams made a powerful return to social media on Monday, Sept. 1. The 25-year-old daughter of the late Robin Williams had deleted all her accounts after she was bullied following her father’s tragic suicide last month.
Taking to Twitter, Zelda tweeted, "Thank you," along with a link to her Tumblr account which quoted actor Harvey Fierstein: "Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no one’s definition of your life; define yourself."
Williams' daughter shared with followers that she was "shaking" after Internet trolls sent her cruel tweets, including a Photoshopped image of her late dad's corpse. While she then went on to urge followers to report the bullies, she later tweeted that she "should've risen above" and eventually quit social media on Aug. 13.
In a statement released to Us Weekly on Aug. 12, Zelda humorously addressed those haters. "As for those who are sending negativity, know that some small, giggling part of [my dad] is sending a flock of pigeons to your house to poop on your car. Right after you've had it washed. After all, he loved to laugh, too," she said.
