Madonna certainly knows how to make a splash!
The pop icon, 54, took a break from her MDNA Tour recently to stop by the Ellen DeGeneres Show, where she brought out a very special guest — son Rocco, 12, from her relationship with ex-husband Guy Ritchie — to sit in the dunk tank, part of an ongoing campaign to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research. (Each dunk during the month of October raises $10,000 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Past victims include Gilles Marini, Marcia Cross, and Liam Neeson.)
Wearing a cage-like conical bra corset over black pants, a fitted white shirt, a black tie, and long black gloves, the edgy superstar looked more like a dominatrix than a doting mother of four children. (In addition to Rocco, she has a 16-year-old daughter, Lourdes, with fitness trainer Carlos Leon, and two adopted kids, David Banda, 7, and Mercy James, 6.) But according to her son, the “Give Me All Your Luvin” singer is actually quite maternal.
“Is your mother strict? Is she a good mother?” DeGeneres asked Rocco prior to sending him to the dunk tank.
“She’s a good mother,” he replied. “That’s all I have to say. She’s very strict, but in a good way.”
She also apparently has a playful side. Sending her son to the tank and picking up her first pink ball, the Material Girl had a definite glint in her eye. But her aim proved somewhat less than true — she missed the target three consecutive times.
“You might never get wet, baby,” she joked. “I kind of suck at throwing.”
DeGeneres took over for the singer on the fourth pitch and hit the bulls-eye on her first try, unleashing a flood of water on the good-natured Rocco as Madonna cheered and flashed her son a quick thumbs-up.
