Au revoir, Casey Abrams!
It wasn't as shocking as Pia Toscano's April 7 exit, but the 20-year-old camp counselor bowed out of American Idol in a surprising exit that proved season 10 really is anyone's game.
"A lot of fans are going to be disappointed with tonight's result," host Ryan Seacrest said at the top of the show. Later, Abrams, Jacob Lusk and Scotty McCreery faced the axe, though Seacrest confirmed the contestants were not in the traditional bottom three, but selected at random.
Abrams — who sang Carole King's "Hi De Ho" for his final performance — was in high spirits despite having to say goodbye.

"The dream doesn't end, it keeps going and gets bigger," the singer said. "I'm going to do everything I can to get myself out there and bring jazz back."
Saved from elimination March 24, Abrams has long been praised by Idol judges Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler.
"You already are a cult hero. There's millions of people in America that are really angry because you pissed them off because you're so f—ing good!" Tyler told Abrams on the April 20 episode. "You changed so many people's minds because you're so good and you're that kind of an artist. So…darn good!"
