In an extortion case tied to the death of his 16-year-old son Jett, John Travolta recalled the teen's final moments.

As his wife Kelly Preston looked on inside the Nassau, Bahamas, courtroom, Travolta, 55, said that around 10:15 a.m. on Jan. 2, a nanny had alerted him that his son had fallen ill at their vacation home on Grand Bahama Island.

"I ran downstairs with my wife to help my son," Travolta said, according to the Associated Press.

He said that when he got to him, one of the Jett's caretakers was already performing chest compressions.

The actor then quickly began administering CPR to his son, who later died from a seizure.

After Travolta's brief testimony, the court took their lunch break.

Travolta and Preston were quickly escorted out of the courtroom.

He is expected to return to the stand this afternoon

Travolta is the star witness at the trial of two people — paramedic Tarino Lightbourne and former Bahamas senator Pleasant Bridgewater — who are accused of trying to extort $25 million from the movie star. (Both have pleaded innocent.)

The trial began Monday.
