The Bachelor's Sean Lowe partners with Peta Murgatroyd for Dancing with the Stars.

Sure, he locked lips with over a dozen gorgeous women on national television on this season of The Bachelor, and will next cha cha cha across the dance floor on Dancing With the Stars alongside 11 Hollywood celebrities, but make no mistake about it — Sean Lowe doesn't actually like the limelight.

Just one day after America watched the 29-year-old entrepreneur drop to one knee and propose marriage to now-fiancee Catherine Giudici, 26, on the season finale of The Bachelor on Monday, March 11, Lowe told reporters that what he's really seeking — aside from love — is some normalcy.

"I've always said that I'm not looking for fame," the Texas native told reporters in a teleconference on Tuesday, March 12. "In fact, I don't like the fame aspect of being the Bachelor or being on Dancing With the Stars. I wish I could — you know, I can't go out in Dallas with my buddies anymore because I'm left taking pictures the whole night because people — you know, they recognize me and they want to take pictures."

When asked why, then, he would agree to tango and foxtrot on ABC's hit dancing competition show, Lowe admitted that it was just too great a "challenge" to pass up.

"I don't want the fame itself, but when an opportunity like Dancing With the Stars comes along, it's too good to pass up," he said. "It's a once in a lifetime opportunity. And I wouldn't have taken it had Catherine not been okay with it. She is fully supporting me. She's in my corner. She's going to be along in this crazy ride with me."

While Lowe is practicing his moves with professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd, Giudici says she plans to be right by her beau's side every step of the way.

"I want to spend as much time as I can with him and I am his biggest fan," she told reporters. "So I'll be front and center cheering him on, and Peta of course."

And though Lowe is self-deprecating about his dance moves ("I have zero dance experience!"), Murgatroyd is confident that they will go far in the competition.

"He has already got some pretty good moves down," she told Ryan Seacrest of the bachelor's technique earlier this week. "I definitely think Sean's gonna make it far. I think he's got all the determination and drive to win that Mirrorball."

Regardless of the outcome, however, Lowe is confident that he and Catherine won't be sticking around Hollywood for too much longer after that — within reason, given the circumstances, of course.

"At some point, we want to have a life with some normalcy to it," he said. "That's not to say, I mean, opportunities may pop up that are just great and we might feel that they're great for us as a couple. …I think after Dancing With the Stars, there's a good chance we'll head to Dallas or go somewhere and resume a normal life."
