Dancing With the Stars’ Season 19 Pros Revealed: DWTS Veterans Mark Ballas, Cheryl Burke, and Derek Hough Confirmed to Return

It's tango time! The Season 19 roster of pros on the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars was announced Wednesday, Aug. 13, on Good Morning America. The list includes veteran dancers like Mark Ballas, Karina Smirnoff, Cheryl Burke, and more, as well as a handful of newbies.

Five-time champion Derek Hough will return to the reality competition series, as well as Val Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, Emma Slater, Peta Murgatroyd, and Witney Carson.

Season 18 winner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who took home the Mirrorball Trophy with his partner, Olympian Meryl Davis, will not return as he previously announced while appearing on The View last month. "I'm done dancing. I feel like it's time," he said. Chmerkovskiy's chemistry with Davis was so palpable that fans speculated whether the two were even dating.

While both parties have insisted that they're just pals who "love" each other, Chmerkovskiy made it clear in a recent magazine interview that he wanted Davis to be his final partner. "I want Meryl to be the last person I dance with," he said in June. "The last person I got to be passionate with and care so much for."

Other pros skipping out from the upcoming season include Sharna Burgess, Sasha Farber, and Henry Byalikov.

While his absence from the list of pros will be felt, viewers will have the opportunity to get acquainted with new names like Artem Chigvintsev, Keoikantse "Keo" Motsepe, and So You Think You Can Dance all-star Allison Holker.

Also returning as hosts of the new season will be Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews, who confirmed she would be returning to the show despite her busy fall schedule. Andrews was announced last month as Pam Oliver's replacement as Fox Sports' lead NFL sideline reporter.

"I am going to have time for Dancing With the Stars," she said. "That was all part of our negotiations with them. In February when they came to us, I kind of hinted when I took the job, I was going to be on the Michael Strahan program, now more so than ever."
