Ariana Grande and her boyfriend, Jai Brooks, have decided to call it quits, the Victorious actress' rep tells Just Jared Jr. The teen stars were first linked in the summer of 2012.
Grande, who has a lead role in Nickelodeon's upcoming series Sam & Cat, divides her time between New York and California. Brooks, a member of the YouTube group The Janoskians, lives in Australia.
"The distance played a major role as it was hard to maintain a relationship so far away," Grande's rep explains. "They remain close friends."
Brooks elaborated on their breakup in response to one of his Twitter followers. "Neither of us knew how hard it'd be to be apart," he wrote. "We still love each other more than anything, though. She's still my girl."

In an August 2012 interview with Just Jared Jr., Grande, 19, shared some sage dating advice with her fans. "[You should] only be with somebody if they make you feel like the best version of yourself," she said. "You can’t sacrifice yourself for anybody, you know?"
