Who needs the Oscars when you have Carrie Bradshaw and Sasha Fierce? On Sunday, Feb. 24 — while other A-listers were partying the night away at the 2013 Academy Awards in L.A. — Sarah Jessica Parker and Beyonce had their own star-powered gathering in New York City. The ladies, along with Bey's husband, hip hop mogul Jay-Z, enjoyed a marathon meal with friends far away from all the red carpet craziness in Hollywood.
According to the New York Post, Beyonce and Jay-Z were spotted with the Sex and the City star having a long dinner at Freemans, a celeb-beloved restaurant on New York's Lower East Side. They were joined by five other pals and stayed long into the night.
(Incidentally, Beyonce was a huge fan of Parker's HBO show. Her husband even rapped about it in his song "Bonnie and Clyde," saying of his wife, "Only time we don't speak is during Sex and the City / She gets Carrie fever, but soon as the show is over / She's right back to being my soldier.")
"They completely blew off the Oscars," a source told the Post's Page Six. "They didn't even have it on a TV screen. They were there until well after 1 a.m. with their friends, laughing and eating."
Beyonce, 31, recently had her own big movie event when she premiered her HBO documentary, Life Is But a Dream, at NYC's Ziegfeld Theatre on Feb. 12. The film gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at the "Love on Top" singer's career and private family life, including her pregnancy with daughter Blue Ivy, now 13 months.
"Being pregnant was very much like falling in love," the superstar says in one scene. "You are so open. You are so overjoyed. There's no words that can express having a baby growing inside of you, so of course you want to scream it out and tell everyone."
