Is that you, Mark Ruffalo?!

The 45-year-old actor was able to put his skills as a former high school state champion wrestler to good use Wed., Dec. 12 when filming scenes for his upcoming film, Foxcatcher. Appearing in the film opposite Channing Tatum, Ruffalo plays Olympic gold medal-winning wrestler Dave Schultz, and looked unrecognizable when channeling the late athlete on set Wednesday.

Shooting scenes on location in Pittsburgh, Penn., dad of three Ruffalo donned a tight white t-shirt and wrestling unitard. Further enhancing Ruffalo's characterization of Schultz? A receding hairline and a full mustache and beard.

Foxcatcher is not the only project that forced Ruffalo to drastically change his appearance for a role. For 2012's The Avengers, the actor was fitted with an "incredibly unflattering" motion capture suit to portray Marvel Comics' larger-than-life character the Hulk. "I was wearing a frumpy little, like, linen thrift store suit and they were all in their super hero costumes looking very, very full," Ruffalo told Access Hollywood of his attire when filming scenes alongside costars Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans and others. "But I think it was exactly how Bruce Banner feels — a little out of place."

The motion capture suit left little to the imagination, Ruffalo confirmed. "It was showing everything and not showing enough — if you know what I mean!"
