Jane Lynch has impressed viewers and critics with her scene-stealing role on Glee, but there's one important person in the actress' life who is less enthusiastic: her 11-year-old stepdaughter, Haden Embry.
"She's so unmoved by that stuff," Lynch, 52, told Us Weekly during FOX's Winter TCA Tour cocktail party in Pasadena, Calif., Jan. 8. "It's funny what kids accept kind of fast. She's not at all in awe of the fact that her mother is on TV."
Lynch was quick to point out, however, that Haden "does love" the show and used to visit the set. "She hasn't come in the past couple of seasons," the Emmy Award winner said. "She's in school. . . I like her doing that. I prefer her going to school!"
The actress, who wed psychologist Lara Embry in 2010, also revealed there will be several more plot twists in season 4. "There will be a wedding, which I haven't seen the script for yet. And one of our graduates, recent graduates, is going to join Kurt [Chris Colfer] and Rachel [Lea Michele] in New York," Lynch told Us. "I'm thrilled about that. I'm hoping to find some way to pry myself into their story line. I've got to go to New York for something!"
Lynch also praised Glee's newest cast members, Melissa Benoist and Jacob Artist, for their unwavering professionalism and dedication on set.
"This is the hardest job, I think, on TV, because they're dancing, singing and rehearsing these intricate numbers. Our choreographers are amazing — they're always throwing amazing stuff at them," the Happy Accidents author told Us. "They learn pretty fast."
Glee airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST on FOX.
