Leslie Knope had the (last-minute!) wedding of her dreams during the Feb. 21 episode of Parks and Recreation. At her fiance Ben Wyatt’s (Adam Scott) suggestion, the Pawnee, Indiana, city councilwoman (Amy Poehler) decided to tie the knot three months ahead of schedule during a black tie gala.

Leslie immediately gave her friends various responsibilities, ranging from finding wedding rings to obtaining a marriage license. Her BFF, Ann Perkins (Rashida Jones), was tasked with finishing Leslie’s wedding gown. “I was thinking the sensuality of Eleanor Roosevelt combined with the animal magnetism of Leslie Stahl,” Leslie told Ann of her dream dress.

After completing a few to-dos of her own, Leslie returned to Ann’s house for a progress update. “We’re running out of time. Ann, please tell me that you have sewn a new dress from scratch — or several dresses, because I would love some options,” Leslie said.

“I have an idea and it might be insane but I’ve been watching a lot of Project Runway recently. . . and the past eight years,” Ann replied. An hour later, Leslie tried on Ann’s makeshift design.

“What do you think?” Ann asked as Leslie looked at herself in the mirror. Referencing the skirt, she explained, “I gathered up all the meaningful bills, pictures, documents and memos from your career. What do you think? Is it okay?”

Leslie replied, “It is the most beautiful object I’ve ever seen. It is the Ann Perkins of dresses. It is amazing.”

During a Feb. 20 conference call, Poehler and Scott shared their feelings about the much-hyped episode. “From the very start, there was more to [their chemistry] than a simple will-they-or-won’t-they kind of device like that,” Scott, 39, said. “And so I think that them being married now just sort of fits in naturally with that. It’s not like there’s anything to be lost by them joining together permanently.”

Scott added that his favorite Parks and Recreation moments feature interactions with Poehler, 41. “Whenever Amy and I have scenes together I’m palpably excited that I get to do that,” he said. “It’s really just so much fun.”

Said Poehler, “I think what’s so cool about getting to work with Adam and getting to act with him is that I always get surprised. I’m always challenged and it’s always really interesting. It feels very alive and very young.”

Parks and Recreation airs Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. EST on NBC.
