Are the odds in favor of a Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult reconciliation? Over three months after news broke of their split, the Oscar-winning actress, 22, and her X-Men: First Class costar, 23, were photographed together on a dinner date at The Little Door in L.A. Monday, April 29.
According to an observer, the former couple (who dated for about two years before calling it quits in late 2012) sat in the back room of the restaurant in a private area — sectioned off with curtains for extra privacy. The eyewitness adds that the twosome were "happy and laughing," and that the meal looked like a "date." Sitting across from one another for the two-hour meal, "they looked flirtatious," the observer notes.
Still, a source cautions that the meeting may have been purely professional: Lawrence and Hoult have begun shooting sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past together. "They started talking again for the movie's sake," the source notes. "If anything, she broke his heart and they are taking it slow."
The Silver Linings Playbook actress gushed about the British star to ELLE back in December 2012. "He is honestly my best friend, and hopefully I'm his best friend, too . . .He's my favorite person to be around and he makes me laugh harder than anybody."
Even after the split, Jack the Giant Slayer star Hoult publicly praised his ex for her thrilling Best Actress Oscar win in February. "I'm very, very happy for her," he told Us.
