Demi Moore announced Thursday that she was ending her 6-year marriage to Ashton Kutcher, and the Two and a Half Men star was quick to respond via Twitter.
"I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi," Kutcher, 33, wrote. "Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and light, AK."
Moore, 49, expressed similar sadness about the end of her marriage. "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton," her rep told Us Weekly in a statement. "As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life."
Kutcher infamously had a one-night stand with San Diego party girl Sara Leal, 22, in the wee hours of Sept. 24 of this year — on Kutcher and Moore's wedding anniversary. (Us Weekly was first to interview Leal about her shocking night with Kutcher, who told partiers that night that he and Moore were already separated.)

Margin Call actress Moore adds in her statement: "This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation."
