Looking hot despite the heartbreak.
Zooey Deschanel stepped out for TV Guide's Hot List party Monday night in Los Angeles, making her first public appearance since Us Weekly broke news of her separation from rocker Ben Gibbard after two years of marriage.
Dressed in a belted, knee-length, navy blue, ruffled dress and glittery gold pumps, the blue-eyed, raven-haired star of FOX's The New Girl looked her usual radiant and bubbly self, despite the news of her recent split.
Deschanel, 31, and Death Cab For Cutie frontman Gibbard, 35, announced their split to Us last Tuesday. The two first met three years ago after their mutual music manager introduced them, but their busy schedules often kept them apart, which Deschanel told iVillage was "definitely hard." A source explained the break-up as "mutual and amicable. There was no third party involved."
The newly single actress didn't stop for interviews at the party, but her New Girl costar Max Greenfield took time on the red carpet to gush about his costar to ET Online, calling her "a special lady".
Added Greenfield: "She steps in front of the camera and you go, 'look at that.' That's like a little bit magical…It's annoying."
